Important Amway Update Regarding COVID Booster & Magic Games…

Team,

The following guidelines are effective February 14, 2022, and are in effect for all Orlando Magic games until further notice:

1. NBA Vaccination / Booster Requirement:

Effective Monday, February 14, 2022, game day staff who are eligible for a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine must receive such dose to continue to be stationed within 15 feet of any of the following areas while a player or referee is present or during the game window:  the court; the back of the player bench or scorer’s table;  the home, visiting, or referee locker rooms; or any other back-of-house player- or referee-focused area, such as a treatment or interview room (all areas, and 15 feet within such areas, “Player-Proximate Areas”).  As a reminder, per current FDA and CDC guidance, you are eligible for a booster if you:

• Received the J&J vaccine at least two months ago and are at least 18 years of age or older; or

• Received your last dose of the Pfizer vaccine at least five months ago and are at least 12 years of age or older; or

• Received your last dose of the Moderna vaccine at least five months ago and are at least 18 years of age or older.

In order to satisfy this booster requirement, you must receive a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine approved or authorized for emergency use by the FDA (link here) or WHO (link here).  Additionally, if you are not currently eligible for a booster dose, but subsequently become eligible, you will have 14 days from the date on which you become eligible to elect to receive such dose.  If you do not, then following that 14-day period, you may not be assigned to work in the restricted area(s) unless and until you receive an additional dose.

Please note that if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days, you may provide a copy of your documented positive test and the booster requirement will apply to you AFTER 90 days has passed since your positive result.

Employees who elect not to receive the booster dose will not be permitted to enter the restricted areas as described above and may be reassigned to work in their same role in a non-restricted area OR may need to be reassigned to a different role (at their current rate of pay) so long as such restriction is in place.  For clarity, all employees whose NBA Gameday credential indicates access with a B, C, L or R or any combination of these letters would have access to a restricted area and will be required to receive the booster dose to work in those areas.  Please refer to the example below:

Thanks,
